Mr. Smiley

Dawson has mastered his smile! It is so much fun, you'll be sitting there, holding him, and you'll look down and he is grinning ear to ear at ya. He does his cute little "talk" while he is smiling too. He tries SO hard to communicate with you, but all that comes out is "ahhh" or "oohhh"
I think this is when babies really start becoming fun! Smiling at Daddy!

Smiles for Grandpa Bruderer! You cant really see the smile a ton right here, but it was so cute.

Sugar Eggs and St. Patricks Day!

When I was a little kid, my mom would make these sugar eggs for us every year and we got to decorate them. It was one of my favorite parts of Easter. We haven't done them for years. My mom decided she wanted to start a tradition and do these every year with the grandkids. Landon absolutely loved it! He loves doing any sort of art or craft project. It's a shame that I am his mother, I am not good at these types of things, and don't really enjoy doing them a whole lot :) Good thing he has Grandma!
All the recent Holidays have been so much fun! Landon is at that age where he is really starting to understand more and get more involved. This has made things more fun for me! We ate everything green yesterday and Landon thought that was the most awesome thing in the world. Today he asked if we could have St. Patricks Day again and eat everything blue. :)

I realize this kinda looks gross... but he hasn't eaten so well in a long time!

Last 2 months in review.

WARNING! If you are one of those people who read my blog and think oh.. she is complaining again.. then QUIT NOW! :)

K, lets start out my 2 month review by the fact that I had a baby. That is one of the ONLY good things about this time era. The recovery of Labor and delivery wasn't bad, but it was a recovery nonetheless. Landon was terribly sick when Dawson was born, probably the worst cold he has had yet. 2 weeks go by. I get slammed with Mastitis. Anyone who has had this knows how AWFUL it is. I had a 103 fever for 3 days, went on two rounds of antibiotics. We thought it was gone, till day 4 came along. Went to the Dr. and had to get a shot of antibiotics in my hip, not only for the Mastitis, but for a Uterine infection as well. The shot worked, so I was GREAT the next day. 2 more weeks go by (somewhat smoothly, if you don't mind sleepless nights). Then one bright cheery Sunday morning I fall down my stairs and break my ankle. I've already posted on that, so we'll leave it alone. Three weeks go by and I am allowed to ditch the crutches! Hooray! Dave and I were thinking that finally things could get somewhat normal.

So then we have my birthday. Birthdays aren't really a big deal anymore to me. Dave always tries to make it a big deal.. but really, when you get older it's just another day. He got me a full length mirror that I had been wanting since I was a little girl. He also got me a cake to sing happy birthday to me. My family had a big shindig at my moms for me (thanks mom) But, the eve of my birthday we decided we needed to get Dawson to the Dr. For the past week he had been projectile vomiting A LOT. So we took him in. We brought the whole fam, and it's a good thing we did!! Landon told the Doc he had a headache and diarrhea (he didn't have diarrhea..) and he told me earlier his mouth hurt. So he did a strep culture, and it came back positive! So we're thinking.. here we go AGAIN! Keep Landon away from the baby, which is nearly impossible. We get home thinking we have it so hard, then I start getting the chills and BAM! The dreaded nasty mastitis is back. My fever spiked up to 104.5. So it's back to the dr. I go, to get a shot in my hip. That brings us to now. Here is sit, 24 hours later, the shot SHOULD have worked... but I still have a fever of 102. I am praying it works soon, I really wanted to go to church tomorrow to take the sacrament..

I couldn't have gotten through these last two months without my mom, Amy and Lori (my sisters) Whenever something happens and we call.. they are here in a heartbeat. I know they dread my calls right about now... So, THANK YOU AGAIN! and also, thank you for the guys we've called on for blessings, you guys are awesome.

Goold ole Times

I was going through some pictures we have scanned on our computer and couldn't help laughing.. These are hilarious! Well.. they will be for my family anyway.. I think we all look the same!! Becky's birthday.. and of course.. in her own little world!
Robert showing off his way cool Nintendo games
Lori's first birthday.. looks a little peeved that everyone else is blowing out her candles..
Some Family vacation we took.. how many kids can fit on one bed???
This was typical of Lori. Always crying.. at least that's how I remember it.

Photo Shoot

I had been feeling like a bad mom... When Landon was Dawson's age, I had his pictures taken twice already. With so much going on, and RSV season at an all time high, we just didn't get Dawson's pictures taken. It was driving me crazy that I hadn't had it done yet, so I decided to just get it done last Monday. My mom drove me to Old Navy and I got them some cute matching outfits for their pictures.

I've heard people say how hard it is to photograph multiple kids... but MAN! it was rough, we didn't really get any good pictures of Dawson, but Landon was his normal model self. He loves his picture taken and he did a good job. Dawson was fussy and crying the whole time. We would throw the binky in his mouth, then hurry and rip it out in time for the pic to be snapped.

Oh well.. at least I got it done, right?
(I realize there is a picture on here twice, my computer is having issues and WONT delete it.)

Just a dang cute picture.

Happy Anniversary to Us!!

7 years ago this guy named Dave called me while I was at work and asked me out. I didn't know him.. but he sounded like an ok guy. I couldn't go out with him that night, but we talked for a while anyway. He said maybe he would call me for a different time. I went home and told my mom I just spoke to my future husband on the phone. (I know... creepy. I didn't tell him this...) I said it half jokingly, but I was somewhat serious (obviously) He ended up calling me later that week and asked me out for the following weekend. My first impression of Dave was..WOW!! this guy is TALL!! and I thought he was cute. When he came to pick me up, my dad was in the driveway working on a car or something. They talked for a minute. After we were gone my dad went and and told my mom that I could go ahead and marry that guy. So... I did.

6 years ago today Dave and I were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, the best day of our lives!

We have been happy every day since then! We started our marriage with a very fun and relaxing honeymoon in Vegas, one of our favorite vacation spots. Not for gambling, but for the hotels and buffets! We had a short and sweet stay, due to the fact that Dave had to get back for night school the following Monday.

We got our first "place" at the Clinton Town Center Apartments. Not the highlight home of my life, but a home with Dave none the less. I HATED apartment living. We had a girl who lived below us who would yell "SHUTUP!!" every time we would walk up to our unit. If we were too loud (which was NEVER) they would get a broom stick and bang on their ceiling. When we would come home every night, we would cheer when they were gone. Anyone knows me, knows I hate noise when I am trying to sleep. I swear they would crank their devil music as loud as they could, just to annoy us. Many times I would have Dave go knock on their door to politely ask them to turn it down. Which... they wouldn't. I'm sure everyone who has lived in an apartment would have similar stories. Dave graduated from college with a degree in business about a year later.

After living there for about 2 years we decided it was time to get a house. (thank heavens) We looked forever and finally found the home we are in today. We both prayed about it and knew this is where we were supposed to be. A year after living here, and two years of trying, we were blessed with our beautiful little Landon! We immediately loved being parents and know we are blessed to be able to be trusted with such special little spirits! After Landon was born I was lucky enough to be able to quit my job and be a stay at home mom, which I LOVE (even though I know I complain about the challenges it also brings)

After Landon was about 2 we decided he needed a sibling, which brings us to where we are today! Little Dawson joined our fam 6 weeks ago.

I love my hubby, I'm glad we found each other, life is good. So happy Anniversary to us!!

I've been tagged.. (thanks Lori)

1. What were you doing 10 years ago??

I was 15.. almost 16... being WAY excited to date and drive. I worked at Lagoon, and yes.. I was a gold badge employee.

2. 5 Things on my To-Do List Today...(tomorrow, since it is way late)

Try not to lose my patience with Landon.

Sit on the other couch.

3. What snacks I enjoy...

Right now I am trying REALLY hard not to eat crap, since I am immobile, I don't want to gain weight on top of baby weight. SO... anything healthy. I am not much of a snacker anyway.

4. What would I do if I were to suddenly be a Billionaire?

I would pay off our house and car. Possibly buy a new house... even though I love my house, ward and neighbors. Buy a lincoln town and country, heck.. who cares if Dave wont drive a minivan.. I'm the billionare. I would buy myself, Dave and the kidlets new wardrobes. I would put the rest away for kids colleges, and... whatever else.

5. 3 Bad Habits..

talking before thinking.
Grinding my teeth at night.

8. 5 Things People don't Know About Me..
I hate driving and will avoid it at all costs.
I am an early riser... even before kids
I go absolutely insane when my house is a mess.. (this stinks bad right now, since I am subject to other people cleaning it for me)
I hate chaos. Most people do... but most people just deal with it better than me.

Dawson's Blessing Day

This last Sunday we blessed Dawson. Everything went so well, thanks to my family and friends.

Dave and I seriously didn't have to do anything to prepare for the big shindig afterwards. My mom and sister cleaned my house before and after, my other fam and friends prepared all the food. Thanks everyone!!

Another great thing was my mom and sister took me shopping the Saturday before to find an outfit to wear. We went to Kohls, who was having a great sale, and to JC Penny. (They have wheelchairs) It was SO NICE to get out of the house after sitting here all week on my tush. Guess it's my own fault.. since I am the clumsy one who fell down the stairs.

Dave did a great job on the blessing and it was nice to have so much family and friends there to support us. Both of my Grandparents from Salt Lake came, it was great to see them!

Dawson is sporting a beautifully crotchet baby blessing suit made my my Grandma Haycock (thanks Grandma) She did a great job making it, especially since she had to make it twice! I'm going to put a picture of the first one she made for him, only because it's funny... Dawson is H U G E ! The first one didn't fit.. She ended up having to make a blessing suit in a size 1. And.. she made it in one week! She is amazing.
